Financial Requirements

Required Documents for the DTV

Valid for at least 6 months after the planned date of entry.

4×6 cm format, white background, taken within the last 6 months.

Minimum balance of 500,000 THB (~€13,800) over the last 3 months.

Remote work contract, freelance status, Muay Thai camp enrollment certificate, etc.

How to Get the DTV?

Via the Thai e-Visa online portal or at a Thai embassy/consulate in your country. Processing takes 15 to 25 business days.

Important Tax Notes

  • • The DTV does not constitute a work permit in Thailand. You work for foreign employers or clients only.
  • • If you reside more than 180 days per year in Thailand, you may be considered a Thai tax resident.
  • • Since 2024, income transferred to Thailand in the same year it is earned may be locally taxable. Consult a tax professional.
  • • The DTV does not allow you to work for a Thai company. For that, you need a work visa + work permit.
