Thailand Tourist Visa: 60-Day Exemption & E-Visa Options
Visa Exemption for Eligible Nationalities (60 Days)
Since November 11, 2024, citizens from many countries (including most European, North American, and many Asian nations) benefit from a 60-day visa exemption to enter Thailand. Previously limited to 30 days, this measure was extended to encourage long-stay tourism.
In practice, this means you can land in Thailand without any prior visa, simply carrying your valid passport and your TDAC (Digital Arrival Card) filled out online. The immigration officer will grant you a 60-day stamp upon arrival.

Extend Your Stay: +30 Days
60 days not enough? You can get a 30-day extension directly at a Thai immigration office, bringing your total stay to 90 days.
How to extend?
The TDAC is mandatory
Since 2024, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) replaces the old paper TM.6 form. It must be filled out online before each entry into Thailand, regardless of your visa type. Without a TDAC, you may face significant delays at immigration.

Flexible return ticket
Book a flexible return ticket or a bus ticket to a neighbouring country (Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia) if you're unsure of your dates.
Have cash on hand
Fund checks are rare but possible. Have at least 20,000 THB in cash or a recent bank statement showing sufficient funds.
Travel insurance
Not mandatory for the tourist exemption, but strongly recommended. Medical costs in Thailand can be high for foreigners.
Beware of overstay
Overstaying your visa results in a fine of 500 THB/day (max 20,000 THB) and can lead to a multi-year entry ban.
